The different kinds of new finishes being used in the modern day shop fits are easily damaged by inappropriate cleaning processes or equipment, and the use of unsuitable cleaning agents must be avoided at all costs. We can provide advice, assessments and/or training to help you ensure that your cleaning methods and solutions are apt for the material of the surfaces being cleaned.

With more and more new products and finishes being applied in shop design we are seeing an increase in the need for this support to businesses. We have been asked to give advice to stores on both the individual store level and head office level, and we have carried out numerous demonstrations and consultations to clients and in-house cleaners on the routine maintenance of their new store.

Case Study: A client had an issue regarding an accident on a floor they installed. The shop-fitter was approached by their client and was informed that they believed the installed floor was not slip resistant.

We offered to visit the premises to make sure that cleaning maintenance was carried out correctly. We observed the cleaning regime and discovered that the cleaners started mopping in the kitchen then carried out on to the restaurant, cleaning with the same water. This left a layer of grease on the floor that made the floor treacherous – an error that can easily be avoided if proper are in place.

We cleaned the floor properly with a citrus degreaser and demonstrated to the manager it was a perfectly safe floor. This removed the headache for the shop fitter and ensured a working relationship with their client.
